I really thought I was going to make it through the household cold epidemic unscathed. I was a fool. Just as everyone else was turning the corner back to health, the germies got me and I’ve been sick for the past four days. I am now best friends with a box of Kleenex® and Easter this year was made possible by the existence of some generic OTC cold meds.
The average duration for the average cold is around 10 days, so I’m almost halfway there. In the meantime, I’m stuffy and runny at the same time. My head hurts. My ears ache. My throat hurts. I dread every tickle in my nose because sneezes hurt and every tickle in my throat because coughing sucks… (I’ve had kids and I’m aging… whoo-pee!)
Fortunately, when I have work to do I am able to do it wrapped in a blanket and propped up in bed, so I’ve been able to keep up with some projects and get my papers done for school, too. Let’s say that’s one of the bonuses of “working from home.” Though these days the disadvantages tend to outweigh the advantages.
Anyway, so that’s what’s going on here. Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend and got to spend some quality time surrounded by loving family and good friends! 🙂
