Busy Is As Busy Does

Today’s buzzword is “busy.” Maybe it’s “bizzy,” either way, that’s what’s going on lately. I’m wrapping up my final classes at school, registering for real estate courses outside of school, taking steps to increase my health (damn that cholesterol!), house-hunting, job-hunting, website-building, blog-researching, taxi-ing my kids back and forth to school and work (someone get a license soon, please!), playing nurse to my house full of sickies and attempting to fight off the hellacious cold virus they seem determined to share with me. Yay! They’re sharing! <tic> My head is constantly pounding, my nasal passages are screaming, my ears are buzzing and aching,

Life moves fast

It’s been a busy week around here! We hit a drive-in movie theater for a dusk-to-dawn marathon (which required a full day of recovery afterwards), kiddos headed back to school and with that we threw two back-to-school/meet the teacher nights onto our to-do, started training for a new project assignment, turned out my final paper for an art appreciation class (that drove me insane because it’s not really my thing, but pulled out a 97 as my final grade – yay!), failed a post office exam in my continuing quest to find a “regular” job, and wrapped the week up

Playing Catch-Up … again

Let myself slide quite a bit over the past few months on this little blog of mine. So once again, I’m driving by to play a little game of catch-up! I’m just about finished with my first three courses since deciding (again!) to go back to school. It’s been interesting, to say the least. Definitely struggling with — okay, maybe struggling isn’t exactly the right descriptive word, more like stressing, worrying, stressing some more, crying, quitting, panic attacking, shutting down over — writing assignments, research papers, forum postings and peer responses. Overall though I’m managing to chug along. As usual,

Breaking Point — Is this it?

Over qualified. Under qualified. Kiss my ass. I need a job! Job satisfaction? Who cares! A paycheck in and of itself is more than enough satisfaction at this point! Ridiculous! Officially nine months since I began looking for a new job (or any source of income at all, really) and still flailing. No job = No home. My divorce was final in December. I totaled my minivan in the same month. Used the bulk of my savings to buy a new car (well, not a brand new car, obviously!). Watching my fabulous credit score that I busted my ass to

So, that’s the plan!

After spending time researching school districts and areas, then giving the list of districts (I pre-approved) to the kids for their own research purposes, we’ve settled on where we plan to plant ourselves next. They’re pretty excited about it, which is really nice. I’m pretty excited simply because I’ve been wanting out of this immediate area for pretty much the entire past 20 years! So now that we are sure where we want to go, I’ve refocused my job searching to businesses and organizations in that immediate area. There does seem to be a lot more opportunity there than there
