Pushing Joe Biden is the last straw. It’s as if they WANT another four years of Chump. Screw the false bravado of a free country and democratic election process. Presidents are chosen by corporations and back door political gaming for the benefit of said corporations and lining the pockets of those whose pockets are already overflowing. I’ve believed in the system. I’ve believed in the process. I have struggled these past couple of elections to hold on to hope that issues would be resolved. Forced myself to think positive. Worked to encourage voting as a way to be heard. It’s
July 4, 1776 – the day that the Continental Congress approved the final wording of the Declaration of Independence. On this day, 243 years ago, the United States of America was “born.” And oh, has she suffered growing pains throughout all those years, but none as potentially damaging to the roots and spirit of its very foundation as we are now seeing unfold before our very eyes. Seriously, it’s important! Today is the deadline for voter registration in my state. I filled out the forms almost a month ago to update my registration since moving and assumed incorrectly that it went through without issue. Thank goodness I took the time yesterday to check my voter registration status because it did not go through. I’m super upset that I’m going to have to be on the phone trying to get through to the local voter registration office to sort it out. I’ve never had an issue any other time I’ve changed addresses. This is upsetting on many levels.
Today I’ll be gritting my teeth and heading out to my polling place. Gritting my teeth because I’m not fully behind either of the presidential candidates, but I’m more against one than the other, so that’s going to direct my vote. Not my preference, really, but at least there are lower level choices to be made that I can be a little more confident about. The kids had a mock election in school yesterday. When I got home last night, they asked if I was going to go vote today and I said yes. I was a little floored by
